If you’ve ever caught yourself thinking, “I just need a better tool,” or “Once I get more organized, things will finally feel easier,” you’re not alone.
And you’re also probably chasing the wrong solution.
In this first relaunch episode of Lindsey Talks Tech, I’m pulling back the curtain on my journey from scrappy tech VA to systems strategist—and sharing the real reason most online businesses feel overwhelmed, disorganized, and heavier than they should.
Spoiler alert: it’s not because you don’t have the right tools.
Why More Tools Rarely Fix the Problem
After years of working behind the scenes of online businesses, I can confidently say this:
More tools are rarely the solution—and they’re often the problem.
I’ve seen businesses running on:
- Seven platforms they barely understand
- Automations firing at the wrong time (or not at all)
- Clunky client experiences, even when the business owner deeply cares
And almost every time, the same pattern shows up.
They don’t need more tech.
They need better decisions around their tech.
My Journey: From Tech VA to Systems Strategist
For a long time, I was what most people would call a tech VA.
I:
- Set up tools
- Built workflows
- Organized business backends
- Fixed broken systems
And I was good at it.
But even early on, something didn’t sit right with me.
The businesses I worked with weren’t struggling because they lacked tools.
They were struggling because their tech didn’t match how they actually worked.
That realization changed everything.
The Shift: Seeing Tech as an Amplifier
As my business grew, I stopped seeing tech as the solution—and started seeing it as an amplifier.
Tech amplifies:
- Clarity or chaos
- Strong systems or broken ones
- Intentional decisions or rushed ones
If your business isn’t clear, tech will make it worse.
If your systems are messy, automation will just spread the mess faster.
That’s why “more tools” is almost never the answer.
Asking Better Questions Instead of Adding More Software
My role evolved from setting things up to helping business owners slow down and ask better questions, like:
- What do you actually want your business to support?
- How do you want your days to feel?
- What needs to happen consistently for this business to run well?
Because without clarity, no amount of automation will save you.
Why Lindsey Talks Tech Exists
This podcast exists because there’s a huge gap in the online business space.
Too many conversations focus on:
- Shiny new tools
- Trendy platforms
- Copying someone else’s tech stack
That’s not what you’ll find here.
Lindsey Talks Tech is about the strategy behind the tech.
We’ll talk about:
- Building systems that actually support your business
- Simplifying instead of overcomplicating
- Automating with intention, not urgency
- Stopping your tools from dictating how you work
Because tech should not be running your life.
Your business should not feel heavier because of your systems.
Tech should support your life—not run it.
Who This Podcast Is For
Whether you’re:
- Offering services
- Creating content
- Selling courses
- Or building something entirely your own
This show is here to help you think differently about how your business is built behind the scenes.
You don’t need more tools.
You need clarity, strategy, and systems that actually fit you.
