Episode 31 | The Restart (What’s Changing for the Rest of 2026)

A business that only works when you are at your very best is a fragile business. I learned that in my bones this past year, and it is the exact thing that pulled me back to this show and reshaped where it is headed for the rest of 2026.

The honest part first

I disappeared for a while. Longer than I planned, and a lot longer than felt okay to me. I thought about coming back like nothing happened and just picking up where we left off, but that is not how I do things with you, and it would not have felt honest.

So here is the truth. This past year held a lot. There were deaths in the family, the kind that reshuffle everything and make it hard to focus on much else for a while. Around that same time, my boyfriend and I moved in with his mom out in a pretty rural area to help her out, and country living has been an adventure in every sense. Well issues and stretches with no running water. No central air in ninety plus degree heat. An ant situation, a rodent situation, and things breaking on what felt like a rotating schedule, all a solid twenty five to thirty minutes from anywhere. And then at the end of July, we walked through a loss that is still tender, one I could not come back here and quietly skip over.

If you have ever tried to keep a business alive while your regular life is a series of tiny emergencies, you know exactly how much that quietly takes out of you. Most of my energy went to keeping normal life functional, and the business got whatever was left. Some weeks that was not much.

What that season actually taught me

Here is the part that matters for you. Going through a stretch where I could not count on myself to remember things, or focus, or show up at one hundred percent made me care more about the exact thing this show is about, not less.

Because a business that only works when you are at your best is a fragile business. When everything runs through you and only you, one hard season is all it takes for the whole thing to wobble. I felt that this year in a way I had not before, and it clarified everything about where I want to point this show.

What is changing around here

When this podcast first started, a lot of what I talked about was helping service providers start a business and get the thing off the ground. That served a lot of you well in the early days. But if I am honest, it was never fully where my heart was.

What I actually light up about is the behind the scenes machinery. The tech, the systems, the automations, and the funnels that let a business run smoothly and hand you your time back. So going forward, that is the lane I am fully leaning into. Less about starting something from nothing, and more about how to simplify, systemize, and scale what you have already built.

That shift comes with a wider door. This show is not just for service providers anymore. If you are a coach, a course creator, someone selling products, or any kind of business owner who is tired of the back end running you instead of the other way around, you are in exactly the right place. The examples might look a little different depending on what you sell, but the systems underneath are far more alike than you would think.

My mission has not changed. It is still to help you simplify, systemize, and scale. I am just aiming all of it at the part I am most passionate about, and opening the door to more of you.

Where we go from here

If this year taught me anything, it is that your time and your energy are not infinite, and most of us are leaking both in places we cannot even see.

So over the next handful of episodes, we are going on a bit of a journey together. We are going to look honestly at where your time is actually going, why so much of your business quietly runs through you alone, and what it looks like to start getting some of that time and capacity back. Not with a giant overhaul you will never finish, but in a way that actually fits inside a real, full life. I need it to be doable just as much as you do.

If you have ever ended a week completely wiped out and could not point to what ate all your hours, the next few weeks are going to feel like I am reading your mind.

This is the reset. An honest one, and a direction I am genuinely excited about. Thank you for being here, especially if you have been around a while and patiently waited for me to find my way back. It means more than you know.

One small thing before you go: I am making a real effort to show up more outside this podcast, over on Instagram. Come find me at @LindseyAleson and tell me you are a listener, because I would love to know who is on the other side of these episodes.
